Corrections & takedowns
Campaign Finance is a static site built entirely from public FEC (and, where noted, state disclosure) filings. Mistakes are possible — a stale filing, a misattributed committee, a rendering bug — and this page exists so anyone, including a member's own office, can get one fixed.
How to request a correction
Email corrections@campaign.finance with:
- The URL of the page in question
- What's wrong, and (if you have it) the correct figure or its source
- Your contact info, in case we need to follow up
We aim to acknowledge every request within 5 business days. Verified corrections are reflected in the next build and logged below.
What we'll fix
- Factual errors: wrong committee, wrong cycle, a figure that doesn't match the cited FEC source.
- Stale data: a filing that's since been amended and superseded upstream at the FEC.
- Attribution errors: content attached to the wrong person or entity.
What this isn't
This is not a mechanism to remove accurate, sourced information because it's unflattering — the site's whole purpose is transparency into public financial-disclosure filings. See the methodology and data-use policy pages for what's shown and why.
Correction log
A dated, public record of every correction or takedown action taken, so the log itself is auditable.
